Typed ideas can't take over
Stories are built from Litsee's own settings, so whatever is typed in is only ever the hero's idea, never an instruction to the AI.
No ads, ever
There is no advertising in Litsee, and our own visitor counts never follow children's reading.
A grown-up for anything paid
Purchases need your parent PIN or your private family link, and payments go through Stripe: we never see card numbers.
Reading aloud stays on the device
When your child reads to the microphone, the browser's own speech recognition listens; Litsee keeps no recording.

Questions parents ask
How much does Litsee cost?
Every family starts with a 7-day free trial. After the trial, Standard is £4.99 a month for 15 stories, Premium is £6.99 a month for unlimited stories and 100 Gems a week for each child, and Book Club is £19.99 a month: everything in Premium, plus their favourite story printed and posted every month once the trial ends. Paying yearly saves up to 30%, and you can top up 5 stories for £2 at any time. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't pay anything. One plan covers every child in your family.
Are there in-app purchases?
Children earn Stars and Gems by reading. Stars buy outfits in the Star Shop, and Gems unlock special items such as companions. Grown-ups can also buy optional Gem packs, from £1.99. Children can't pay for anything: plans and Gem packs sit behind your parent PIN and are paid through Stripe.
How long is a story?
Short stories take 5–10 minutes over 4 chapters, medium ones 15–20 minutes over 6, and long ones 30 minutes or more over 8. After each chapter, your child picks one of three paths or writes their own idea.
What age is Litsee for?
Children aged 5 to 11. Stories are written for reading ages 5 to 9, set from your child's age and reading confidence, and you can change the level for any story.
Which devices does it work on?
Litsee works in a web browser on phones, tablets and computers.
Can brothers and sisters share an account?
Yes. Each child has their own profile, hero, reading level and rewards, and picks it on the “Who's reading?” screen. Your plan and the free trial are shared by the whole family.
Does Litsee read to my child?
Yes. Narration is on by default and highlights each word as it's read. Children can also read aloud themselves with the microphone to earn Stars; the recording isn't saved.
Is it safe, and how is AI used?
Litsee uses AI to write and illustrate each story. Every story request, and every idea your child types, is checked against child-safety rules, and the AI providers' own safety filters apply too: blocked requests never become stories. There are no adverts, and grown-up areas are behind your parent PIN.
What will I see as a parent?
Your family dashboard shows each child's minutes read each day, stories, words read, reading streak, the choices they made and their wish list. With quizzes switched on, it also shows quiz results and new words. You can also turn on a weekly email, sent on Sunday evenings.
Every chapter they read moves their hero on.
